Many people in today's fast paced lifestyle are attached at the hip with their Blackberry's or other PDA's. It is extremely convenient for people to keep in touch with various areas of their life with these devices, but they can often times overtake free time. Instead of spending time away from the office and enjoy time alone, people can spend their time staring at their phones. This can lead to a very unhealthy lifestyle that is filled with anxiety.
First off, turn the device off during meal times. This is a completely rude situation that has become a part of people's daily lives. Phones have no place at the breakfast, lunch, or dinner table, so leave it in your pocket. Relax and enjoy the company of good food and great people.
Secondly, the best way to eliminate an addiction is to leave remove yourself from temptation. Turn your Blackberry and your other cell phone accessories off, when going to bed. You should considering turning them off about an hour or 2, before going to bed and after waking up in the morning.
Spend your vacation away from your Blackberry. Don't carry it everywhere with you, or you will be tempted to check every single email and message. Check your phone 1 to 2 times per day and only reply to the important messages. It is important for people to understand that you are on vacation and need some time away.
Try to avoid sending personal text messages and emails from your mobile device. This will lead to more time spent on your phone than you would like.
Leave your Blackberry in your car or at home, when it is not needed.
