In today’s fast paced world it is nearly impossible to avoid eating out during the week, but contrary to popular beliefs you can eat healthy while enjoying a prepared meal. Fine dining or a quick sit-down meal doesn’t need to spoil your dieting habits. With a few tips you can enjoy yourself without feeling guilty after your meal.

1. Decide on your meal before you get to the restaurant. If you’re going to a familiar restaurant try to make a decision on your food earlier. Deciding early will help you stick to your plan and avoid choosing unhealthy alternatives. If you’re going to an unknown restaurant try to find a menu online or call ahead of time to get a general idea of the menu. Various sites such as the FDA have great information on nutritional properties of meals. Don’t forget to allow yourself a small reward for all of your hard work and discipline.

2. Before you leave for your restaurant ensure that you are not extremely hungry. Starving yourself before can lead to overeating, which will detract from your diet. Drink a glass of water and eat a small snack an hour before you leave.

3. Avoid a distracting atmosphere. Try to sit in a quiet environment, so you’re not easily diverted from your meal selection. Noisy surroundings can also lead you to forgetting about how much you are eating.

4. Be the first one at your table to order. Ordering first will eliminate you following another person’s dinner selection, which could result in an unhealthy dinner choice.

5. Drink plenty of water during the meal to avoid over eating and be social during the meal. The more talking you do, then less likely you are to be fixated on eating. Eat meals high in fiber, since it is a natural colon cleanser . This will allow you to get some healthy nutrients and benefits from your meal.

Having the best cutting edge electronics in your home and vehicle is becoming the “thing’ to do these days. Here are a few tips on how to upgrade your home theater experience.

1. Evaluate your current equipment. Take a look at your television, speakers, seating, and beverage holders. Decide what areas of your entertainment room could use an upgrade. If your finances are somewhat tight select one area to revamp at a time. There are typical two places to start your upgrade: your TV and surround sound system.

2. Upgrading your surround sound can enhance your home theater experience greatly. Check out various types of speakers and decide on what your price range is. Generally, you get what you pay for when it comes to home audio equipment. Tower speakers provide better sound that conventional shelf and book case speakers and they also require no mounting or installation. Consumer Reports is the best place to check on speaker ratings and reliability.

3. Selecting a right TV is the centerpiece of a home theater system. Upgrading from an old CRT TV to a brand new discount plasma TV can be very exciting. Be sure to explore all of your options to decide which type of TV best suits your needs and desires. Ensure that you’re buying a HDTV, because it would be unwise to invest in another CRT TV. Check out various retailers to get the best deal and be sure to check out installation and delivery prices.

4. Consider adding other elements to make your home theater room more enjoyable. Theater style seating is a great way to add comfort to an already great theater system. Another option is to install a beverage food dispenser such as a mini refrigerator chocked full of your favorite drinks, or a food cart full of goodies.

Tips for Cleaning a CD

11.02.07 (1:16 pm)   [edit]

Listening to a dirty CD can be a very annoying thing to deal with.  Poor sound quality and skipping are common problems that can arise from a dirty CD.  It is recommended that you first verify that the disc is dirty and it is not another issue such as a dirty or malfunctioning discount in-dash CD player lens.  Cleaning an already-clean CD increased the risks of scratching it.

Tip#1- You want to eliminate large particles of dirt on the CD, before you actually touch the disc.  Place the disc under running lukewarm water.

Tip #2- Apply a small amount of soap to the disc. Make sure that you use a liquid soap that is free of all impurities like dyes and perfumes.  These “extras” can cause a great deal of damage to a disc. Epinions offers a great review on different CD cleaning products.

Tip#3- Use a soft, lint-free cloth for cleaning the disc.  Any rough materials can easily scratch the CD and ruin your disc. Make sure that you rub the disc in a straight line pattern.  Start from the middle of the disc and work outwards.  This will ensure that any debris will not scratch the disc continuously as circular motion will, if a particle trapped underneath the cloth.

Tip#4- Rinse the disc off and wipe it with a cloth.  Make sure you allow it to air dry and then wipe it clean.
